First Parts of the Archive Catalogue Are Online

Digitized archive holdings accessible

After intensive work, a first version of the archive catalogue can be presented on the new IGMS website. Initially, only the collection of all musical sources owned by the Society as well as selected program books, articles, and reviews are made available as a first result of the digitization project that began in May 2023. With almost 500 data sets, only a first step has been taken in the digital preservation and availabilty of the holdings. By summer 2024, additional archive holdings (photos, caricatures, correspondence, documents, audio and video sources) will be made accessible. In addition, the library’s holdings (books, magazines, sheet music) will gradually be made searchable in the same catalogue. In addition to a differentiated full-text search ("+" for inclusion, "-" for exclusion of search terms, "..." for literal search), the option of filtering or narrowing down according to media types, dating, and Mahler works is offered. Most digitized copies are gradually also made available in the attractive format of the Mirador-Viewer by the kind assistance of the Austrian Center for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW). Until further notice, the catalogue is only available in German.
