Reinhold Kubik
Born 1942 in Vienna.
Educated in Vienna (piano, composition, conducting under Hans Swarowsky). 1965-1966 coach at the Municipal Theater of Dortmund, 1966-1974 coach and conductor at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf-Duisburg.
1974-80 University studies in Erlangen/Nümberg (musicology, art history, theater science), Ph.D. dissertation on Händel's Opera Rinaldo. Many concerts as pianist and accompanist; 1969/70 director of the Kammerchor of the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft.
1980-97 in the music publishing business (Chief Editor in the Hänssler-Verlag Stuttgart, Head of the Production Department at the Universal Edition Wien, Responsible Editor of the Wiener Urtext Ausgabe).
Editor of many scholarly and practical publications, e.g. Bach, Händel, Zelenka, Zelter, Schubert and Mahler. 1998-2000 "performance edition" of all of the sacred cantatas by Bach for BACH CANTATA PILGRIMAGE (a project of John Eliot Gardiner). Faculty of the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien, the Musikakademie Nürnberg, Yale University and the Institute for European Studies in Vienna.
Specialist for the art of baroque acting, which he teaches together with his wife, Margit Legler, in many workshops and master classes (e.g. at the International Handel-Academy in Karlsruhe, at the Wiener Meisterkurse, at King's College in London, at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp, at the University for Art in Graz and at the Institut für Aufführungspraxis in Michaelstein). Director of the Ensemble L'AZIONE TEATRALE, which performs baroque opera in the style of the times.
Seit 1993 Editor in Chief of the Critical Edition of the Complete Works of Gustav Mahler, published by the International Gustav Mahler Society, Vienna, also vice-president of the Society; Editor of the Supplemental Volume IV, Das klagende Lied in the original version in three movements; editor of the new edition of the 5th Symphony.
Dr. Erich Wolfgang Partsch
Born 1959 in Vienna.
Studied Musicology and Pedagogy at the Univerity of Vienna, Ph.D. 1983, Musicologist at the Anton Bruckner Institute in Linz, Faculty member of the Franz Schubert Conservatory, vice-president of the IGMG and Editor of the "News About Mahler Research".
