The composing cabin is in the animal park (admission 3 Euro), which is open daily to the public from 9 AM to 6 PM (access via the animal park). In the off-season months, the park is closed on Thursdays. Further information in the Gustav-Mahler-Stube, Tel. +39-0474-972347.

Mahler's quarters in the Trenkerhof, formally open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11 to 12 AM, are now unfortunately closed to the public.

Travel directions: Trains (none direct) run from the Westbahnhof and from Meidling Station in Vienna, travel time roughly 8 to 9 hours. Trains from Salzburg take 5 hours on the average to reach Dobbiaco (change trains 1 to 3 times). Schedules here.

By car: The Gustav-Mahler-Strasse from Toblach intersects the main east-west highway at the Gratschwirt hotel and restaurant. From here, a side street marked by a sign to the Gustav-Mahler-Stube branches off to the south, crossing beneath the train tracks and continuing up to the Trenkerhof. From the center of Toblach to the Trenkerhof is a 30-45 minute walk. Google Map
